Stop Motion/Blurred Motion/Light Trials

This project consisted of three different types of photography. The first being stop motion where we had to use a fast shutter speed in order to capture a fast movement as a very clear and still image. The second type of picture was blurred motion which involved mostly the entire image being sharp, with only the part of the image that an action was taken place being blurry so that would represent movement in the image. The last type of image was light trails where a long exposure was set in a dark room with a light source as a way of drawing the image for the picture.

This is an image captured in my photography classroom that was possible through a setup that dropped small drips of water into a tank of water. This was image was possible by making the shutter speed very fast, at a speed of 1/1000 of a second. For the image to be visible at that speed the ISO was set to 800 and the aperture at f/7.1.

This image was taken in my house in the music room where I set up the camera on a flat still surface to the side. I then set the camera at a slow shutter speed of 1.6 seconds and movies my hands to play the piano. With the exposure so long it created a blurred image showing my movement. The ISO for this image was set to 3200 with a high aperture of f/22. I chose the piano because I felt this was a great and simple way to show movement.

This is an image of a light trail that was taken right from my house. How this image was possible by setting the camera to a long exposure meaning a very slow shutter speed of 25 seconds. The aperture setting was set to f/22 so that there was less light taken in from the background. How I did this was set the camera in a dark room facing this position then with those settings I pressed the button to capture an image. With the light on my phone I then designed what I wanted to design which was my name above. The reason I chose red is because I felt that it was the most vibrant and best color to make the most impact for the image.
